U.S. Open at Myrtle Beach, SC to Allow 2012 Rosters

MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA - The ISSA has announced that the ISSA/ASA U.S. Open Championships to be held at Myrtle Beach, SC on September 23-25, 2011 will allow teams to play with their 2012 roster.   This National Championship event will will become the ISSA "winter National" for the teams in the southeastern part of the United States and will utilize the new state-of-the-art facilities recently built in the area and provide the players an opportunity to visit one of the Nation’s favorite vacation spots. Players and fans are surely to create unforgettable memories in this South Coast paradise.  

The United States Senior Championships will be a "ring" tournament and berths will be awarded for the ISSA/ISF World Tournament of Champions to be held next January at Tampa, Florida.  Additionally, the tournament will allow teams who had previously qualified for the WTOC to requalify their roster since the WTOC will play by 2012 rules.  The event will play by the ISSA Senior Rules including our equipment rules (senior bats allowed).  ISSA Executive director, RB Thomas, Jr. in announcing the new event said "the ISSA chose Myrtle Beach in September for this National Senior Tournament because it represents a favorite destination for the players, provides unlimited lodging opportunities and is developing some of the best adult softball fields in the Nation.  It is also the home of Chelsea Jo's Restaurant, a favorite for many softball players and fans who like to stop by to see an old softball friend, proprietor Lester Leonard."
