Tournament:

2022 ISSA Great Smoky Mountain Senior Classic

Date:

The 2022 ISSA Senior Smoky will include both men's and women's teams.  The 55 and 60 men and 35 to 60 women will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 3, 4 and 5.  The 65 to 80 men and women will play on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 7, 8 & 9 and the 40 to 50 men play June 10, 11 & 12 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).  The ISSA/Mike Macenko Home Run Derby will be Thursday night, June 2 for the 55 and up Division and June 9 for the 40 and 50 Divisions at 6:00pm at Sandy Springs Park in Maryville.

Location:

Maryville, TN at Everett Park and Sandy Springs Park, Loudon at Municipal Park and in Knoxville, TN at Caswell Park and Knox County Softball Complex and other Parks as needed.

It is estimated that over 200 teams from throughout the United States will be attending to compete for the "Smoky" championship in their division.  Teams should check the "Address of Venues" page for the park where their division will be playing and available nearby hotels.  

Ticket Prices: Admission to all venues is FREE.
 

Parking

No charge for parking, adequate parking is available at the parks.

Managers Check-In: The managers for the 35 - 60 women's and the 55, 60 & 65 men's check-in TBD and the managers for the 65 women & 70, 75 and 80 teams check-in TBD.  The managers for the 40+ & 50+ teams can check in on Thursday, June 9th at 6:00 PM at Sandy Springs Park in Maryville.  Manager's can elect to check-in about one-half hour before first game. All managers should review the 2022 ISSA Rules and Information page posted on the ISSA Website before coming to the Tournament. Managers should bring their Roster Waiver Form to the check-in along with their completed Hotel Use Form. 

Team Check-in:

All players must have a valid government photo ID (drivers license) with them at the ball park at all times.  All Managers should submit a copy of their ISSA Roster Waiver duly signed by all the players to the ISSA Field Director prior to their first game.

Tournament Seeding:

The tournament staff will place the teams in brackets and prepare the preliminary schedule which will be posted on the website approximately three days prior to the tournament. In most cases the preliminary game record will be used to seed your team into the double elimination finals. The exact format will depend on the number of teams in each division.

First Game: Pool play games for all ages will begin at 8:00am.  Most divisions will end on Thursday or Sunday afternoon and the Awards Ceremony will immediately follow the final game. (Some smaller divisions could conclude eariler.)

Deadline:

Entry Deadline: Most divisions will reach field capacity early and close to new entries very early.  Any team desiring to enter should submit the online entry form early and pay the entry fee to reserve a spot.  The tournament will close when the number of paid entries reaches the field capacity.  Entry fee is due when entering.  

Rosters Due: The ISSA Roster Form must be submitted online at least one week before the event starts.  A copy of the signed Roster Waiver must be turned in with original player signatures prior to the team's first game.  Players arriving late can sign prior to their first game provided their name was on the roster when turned in.
 

Divisions of Play:

Teams will be placed in age/skill level divisions using their ISSA Rating and verified by the tournament staff. Divisions could be combined if necessary.  It is the tournament staff's desire to provide all teams with a competitive experience resulting in a quality tournament experience. 

Fees:

The entry fee for all Men's Senior classifications is $590.00.  Pay online or make checks payable to ISSA and mail to the Tournament Director for receipt prior to closing.  (Mailed checks will not be accepted after the event is closed.)
